est. may 28th, 1998 to one kim dabin and edmund, a youthful married couple with an eldest son of 3 yearsgrows up learning to love life and art from her mother, and how to persevere through her father. he brings her back souvenirs from all the cool places he visits just to see her smilemyungsoo, her brother, becomes her best friend. they are practically inseparable for the duration of their childhoodraised in a dance studio. competes and also dances for fun, and learns a wide range of styles over numerous years in order to become well-roundednormalcy does not last -- edmund is diagnosed with cancer in its final stages, completely unexpected in the early years of dahyun's life and the development of their family. things are put on hold, and panic sets in2007 ━ ; move to san francisco in order to be closer to edmund's family and to receive treatment. the weight of the situation is not transparent to dahyun at 9 years old, and she cannot understand who is sick when her dad's smile hasn't changedpicks up the name dani from her given english name, danielle -- her father is very fond of it when in the last strides of his life, so it sticks even nowlives in america for a total of 7 years; learns english fairly well, and does decently at school. becomes interested in the dance scene and joins studios there, just to broaden her horizons a bit further2011 ━ ; attacked by a large wild dog, which left her with scarring on her right ear and a deep fear for animals in general2013 ━ ; her father passes away in a hospital room after years of fighting and a sudden relapse. dani's cries are muffled in the sleeve of her father's shirt as she wishes him goodbye. she is 15, and is learning the meaning behind loss2014 ━ ; a slow move back to south korea, and her mother has become disconnected with the death of her beloved. she pushes her children away, and she loves them, but she cannot function past small talk in the same year dani’s older brother leaves home to pursue his future, and does not really give details of his plan; promises to keep in contact ( which he does ) with dani and his mother, even though his mother is never quite all there. is presumed to be traveling the world just like his father, if the trinkets he sends dani are anything to go bywith the absence of her brother and the anniversary of her father's passing, dani comes to a crippling realization: she is 16 and learning the meaning of being lonely. her mother is quiet, but she asks dani about her day. she calls her dahyun, and it softens the space around them for the duration of dani's high school yearsgraduates with flying colors, and heads off to university after a summer trip to san francisco to see her father's family once more. definitely brushes up on her english after a few years of neglectbegins college with her heart set on dancing, but falls in love with photography after finding an album of her father's back in california2018 ━ ; presently a vibrant dance major that is pursuing a minor in photography, and picks up a job as a waitress in a cute 50s-style diner to help pay for her education. still visits dance studios, and still feels lonely from time to time. calls her mother every week and can hear the hint of missing someone new in her voice
